Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis: I believe I'll fare well as prime minister

The mayor of Romanian city of Sibiu, Klaus Johannis, who’s supported by three opposition parties for the seat of prime minister, said in a press conference on Thursday he believed he would fare well as head of government should he be selected for the job. He believed his chances for that to happen were 50%.

He said he had the experience of negotiating with banks in Romania and from abroad. And he said he did not consult with any politician about his nomination, saying he was honored by the proposal no matter what the final result would be.

Asked whether he considered a possible candidacy for presidency, he said it was a possible option but one he did not agree with.
