Study: Romania comes 68th worldwide at economic freedom
Romania takes the 68th position in a list regarding economic freedom rates in 2007, a study by the Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal shows. According to the study, Romanian economy is 61.5% free, a 0.3 percentage-point increase compared to last year. Moreover, the report shows Romania enjoys great fiscal, commercial and business freedom.
The study reveals that the financial system complies with international standards and is favorable for reform and privatization programs.
However, experts argue that the weak points Romania face are work force, property rights and corruption.
At the European level, Romania comes 30th out of the total of 41 countries taken into account.
