Ten Democratic Liberal senators expected to resign and form new independent group. Party dismisses allegations
Ten Romanian senators representing the governing Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) allegedly plan to resign from the group and form, in a first step, a new group of independent senators, parliamentary sources quoted said on Friday, as quoted by news agency Mediafax.
The sources said that beside the senators three deputies – other than the one who already announced his resignation last week – may also resign.
Representatives of the PDL contacted by HotNews.ro dismissed the allegations and described them as a scenario aimed at rising tension within the group.
