The first Romanian thief arrested by the military in Rome
Monday, August 4 was the first day when Italian military forces patrolled together with police forces the streets of the country in an attempt to secure the streets and maintain citizens’ security. This is one of the most controversial measures taken by the Berlusconi government regarding public safety. One of the first people arrested was a Romanian citizen, La Repubblica reads in its online edition.
Apparently, a 17 year old Romanian was arrested because he stole the wallet of an old lady near Anagnina subway station in Rome.
According to the new law pack on public safety, mixed teams of police and military forces were deployed on the streets of Rome and other 8 big cities. In the capital city, soldiers could be seen in the most dangerous subway stations.
