The first victim of the war against banks: UniCredit Tiriac Bank director Bogdan Mihoc resigned

HotNews.ro

UniCredit Tiriac Bank treasury director Bogdan Mihoc resigned on Monday and was replaced by Dorin Alexandru Badea, a press release of the bank announced. Badea was previously a deputy director of the bank’s treasury, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs.

Bank representatives declared that Badea will replace Mihoc after the latter decided to resign, NewsIn informs. The announcement confirms the rumors launched by the press last week, that foresaw the resignation of Mihoc after a scandal on the operations of the bank in the last two-three weeks.

Romania’s central bank governor Mugur Isarescu accused last week a group of banks which offer quotations for calculating ROBOR of promoting the idea that there is no liquidity left on the market by the statements they made and trying to cover the losses registered after the failed attempt to attack the Romanian currency.

In the same time, the Romanian Competition Council launched an investigation related to the rumors that some active economic agents made agreements with other players on the market, which is forbidden by the law.
