The Liberal censure motion against the government was rejected

HotNews.ro

The censure motion initiated by the Liberals and the Hungarian Democrats against the unique salary scheme law, for which the government assumed his responsibility, with 112 votes for, 137 against and two abstains. To be adopted, the motion should have make up 236 votes, twice the number of those initiating the law.

The Democrat Liberals changed their minds and decided to vote against the motion, after earlier in the day they announced the contrary. Democrat Liberal leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Mircea Toader declared that the Democrat Liberals will not take a hidden vote.

Liberal leader Crin Antonescu compared Romania’s current situation with a train in which the government parties in the engine room while the wagons, in which the people rest, derailed. In a speech addressed to the Parliament, PM Emil Boc declared that the motion is in fact a self motion against their initiators. The majority of the critiques formulated by the two parties are critiques against the old government which was unable to formulate such a law draft.
