The number of Eastern Europeans seeking jobs in Great Britain decreased

HotNews.ro

The British Interior ministry published on Wednesday the quarterly statistics for the migration control and supervision, set up by the UK Border Agency. The data shows that Eastern Europeans are less attracted to seek better jobs in UK: the requests of both Romanians and Bulgarians decreased significantly. If in 2007 some 9500 applications were registered, the total amount of applications decreased by 38% in 2008.

Between July and September, some 600 Romanians applied for a work permit and over three quarters were skilled workers. According to published statistics, Romanians and Bulgarians seeking a job in Great Britain are 25-34 years old: 25% are registered between the 18 to 24 years old range while only 14% between the 33 to 44 years old.

The report, registering the immigration quota increases shows that citizens do not wish to work in Great Britain any more.
