The Parliamentary Committee, in charge of investigating the accusations against Democrat Liberal Sports minister Monica Iacob Ridzi will continue its activity, the Romanian Chamber of Deputies decided on Tuesday. The decision was contested by the Democrat Liberals.
Sports minister Monica Iacob Ridzi is investigated by the Parliamentary Committee for the money its ministry spent for Youth Day. Last week, Deputies decided to set up a special committee to verify the contracts approved by the minister.
To mark Youth Day, the Sports ministry organized a series of concerts in Bucharest and other places across the country including at the seaside. For this event, the ministry was accused of offering the contracts without an official tender.
