Traffic closed in Jiul Valley

Road and railway traffic was closed in the Jiul Valley in the Southern Carpathian Mountains on Tuesday following the launch of an operation aimed at preventing further rockslides in the heavily circulated area.

Authorities have announced railroad traffic would be open as soon as a series of explosions to destroy rocks with a high sliding risk is over. But they warned drivers road traffic in the area might remain closed until Thursday.
