Zeci de militari ucraineni neinarmati, dispusi in coloana si purtand un steag al Ucrainei si un steag rosu, i-au infruntat, marti dimineata, pe militarii rusi care ocupau baza aeriana Belbek, de langa Sevastopol. Mai multi corespondenti ai ziarelor internationale relateaza pe Twitter evenimentul si sustin ca fortele rusesti au tras primele focuri de arma in aer, in semn de avertizare, atunci cand coloana soldatilor ucraineni inainta spre pista aeroportului.
Potrivit corespondentului revistei TIME la Moscova, Simon Shuster, acum detasat la Sevastopol, in dimineata zilei de marti comandatul trupelor ucrainene care pana nu demult detineau controlul bazei aeriene Belbek de langa Sevastopol a primit un nou ultimatum de la trupele rusesti, sa se predea inainte de ora locala 16:00.
Ca raspuns, relateaza jurnalistul pe Twitter, trupele ucrainene s-au incolonat si, fara arme asupra lor, ci doar cu un steag al Ucrainei si un steag rosu al pilotilor care au zburat in cel de-al doilea razboi mondial, au pornit in mars spre pista aeroportului cu scopul de a prelua controlul bazei.
In timpul inaintarii, trupele rusesti au tras focuri de arma in aer, in semn de avertizare.
Informatiile au fost confirmate pe Twitter si de catre jurnalistul Anshel Pfeffer, corespondentul ziarului israelian Haaretz, aflat si el la fata locului. Imagini video au fost surprinse de televiziunea ATR din Crimeea.
Aflati in fata trupelor rusesti care aveau armele indreptate impotriva lor, militarii ucraineni au trimis reprezentanti pentru a negocia preluarea controlului bazei aeriene, povestesc cei doi jurnalisti pe Twitter.
Comandantul ucrainean ar fi cerut sa controleze baza aeriana impreuna cu militarii rusi, in timp ce comandantul rus a cerut un timp pentru a analiza propunerea. In tot acest timp, soldatii ucraineni, unii instotiti de sotiile lor, au asteptat in zona pistei aeroportului.
