IMF and the EU demand flexible employment and lay off procedures, the World Bank demands bigger differences between salaries – find out what are the government’s modifications to the unique salary law in the budgetary sector. As international financial organizations urge the government to change the unique salary law for the budgetary sector, Gandul highlights the main changes which the government considers.
The official names of functions will be changed: for example, there will be no longer assistant manager positions, only secretaries.
The salary difference between people employed in various sectors on the same position will disappear. There will be bigger differences to mark hierarchies. Overall, salary spending will have to remain the same but in order to increase big salaries, the government will have to cut from the small ones.
On the other hand, the labour code is not as flexible as the EC and IMF want it to be and the government fears that if it it will increase flexibility, fiscal evasion will also increase.
Elsewhere in the news, Romania libera notes that Dacic archeological sites in West Romania will be rescued by UNESCO as the Romanian government ignored them so far. UNESCO decided to get involve in restauring the old Dacic remains and include them in tourism circuits.
Local mayor Ionel Burlec declared that at the moment, he cannot put forward any costs because the project is just beginning. For now, he explained, all measurements were made and plans were set up but restauration works might start later this year and will be covered by UNESCO.
Each monument will probably need millions of euro to be rehabilitated, experts declared for the newspaper. The give archeological sites making up Dacic remains are included, since 1999 in the world patrimony, which pinpoints to their importance.
In a lighter tone, Romania libera notes the dangers of Facebook, now that it gained more and more ground in Romania. For many youngsters, Facebook became a serious problem as they moved their entire life online.
Experts say it is an addiction that can destroy the real live of an individual. The American Psychiatry Association named new forms of dependency among which internet dependency and Facebook dependency.
The social network allows a continuous form of communication which offers the user the feeling that he loses touch with events if he does not enter Facebook. Experts believe that Facebook can lead to isolation, decrease the quality of family relations, destroy careers and even financial problems.
British expert Hilary Betts declared that for her, Facebook is a form of dependence on the media and a compulsive online behaviour.
