EC President Barroso rejects bold European financial reform ideas

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso rejected speculations related to the emission of European treasury certificates, the idea that European states could adopt a fast-forward way to join the euro zone and denied the creation of a European institution for financial monitoring.

Despite some positive signals from the EU Economy Commissioner, Barroso rejected all the bold ideas put forward until now. He declared that he did not believe in the utility of speculations.
