European Commissioner Viviane Reding considers Romania's answer inconclusive, demands documents and explanations on the way telecomm authorities reorganized
The European Telecomm Commissioner, Viviane Reding, sent a second urgent letter to the Romanian Telecomm Minister, after the sudden dismissal of the head of Romanian Telecomm Regulation Authority (ANRCTI) and the reorganizing of the institution, a press release of the EC team in Bucharest. Reding expressed her concern on the measures adopted by the Romanian Government, asks for several documents able to provide a full picture of the situation and demands an answer from the Romanian authorities until October 24.
The European Commissioner also points at the fact that the letter issued by the Romanian authorities on September 23 on the ANRCTI reorganizing did not provide enough data o eliminate to concern on a possible flaw caused in the independence of the regulation authority.
