Romania has the biggest wind energy potential in South Eastern Europe but is ranked last in an alternative energy producer top in the region, an Erste Bank study reveals. For the business sector, green energy translates to low costs and high revenues.

Our efforts to relaunch the world economy target the green energy industry and Romania, as member of the EU has a significant regional role, British Ambassador to Romania Robin Barnett declared on Tuesday.

He added that Romania has the biggest potential in the region when it comes to alternative energy. Ambassador Barnett declared that Romanian politicians need to introduce all the EU measures to stimulate the development of this industry.

Using green energy, companies can decrease operating costs, direct energy spending and also transports and heath problems. By 2020 Romania will increase its use of alternative energy from 17.8% in 2005 to 24%.
