IMF analyzes on Friday the terms of a new agreement with Romania and conducts the last evaluation of the current program

IMF directory meets on Friday, March 25th to debate Romania’s request for a new precautionary agreement with the international institution worth 3.6 billion euro, the IMF informs. Moreover, the institution’s management conducts the seventh and last evaluation of the stand by agreement signed with Romania on May 4th, 2009 for a two year period.
This is the last installment in the stand by agreement after Romanian authorities decided that it does not need the eighth installment which the country should have received from the IMF, worth 1 billion euro. The last IMF mission in Romania was in February 2011 and talked about a new precautionary agreement with the Romanian authorities.
