International adoptions involving Romanian children will enter the agenda of the Petitions Committee in the European Parliament
European Parliament’s Committee Petitions will reunite on Monday, March 22, at Brussels to talk, among others, about a petition related to the controversies of international adoptions involving Romanian children. The document is submitted by Marco Griffini, on behalf of the organization Amici dei Bambini and deals with Romania’s compliance with international conventions in child adoptions.
The petition urges authorities to reopen international adoption cases and sanction Romania. Romanian MEP Victor Bostinaru will take a stand against the request, a press release of the Romanian Social Democratic delegation reads quoted by AgerPres.
