Romanian Foreign minister Cioroianu met Gypsy leader wanted by Interpol

The President of the Gypsies Association in Rome, Costel Argint, who is sought by Interpol, met Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu and Foreign Minister, Adrian Cioroianu during their visit to Italy on Wednesday, Romanian news channel Realitatea TV informs.

In response, minister Cioroianu said on Thursday that he did not meet Argint personally but that they both attended a meeting with representatives of Romanian associations in Italy.

Costel Argint said on the occasion that the Rroma community has forgiven Cioroianu for his recent statements proposing the setting up of disciplinary camps in the Egyptian desert to reeducate violent representatives of the Rroma (or Gypsy) people.

Costica Argint, the leader of the Rroma community in Italy has requested political asylum in Italy and cannot be expatriated even though he is wanted by the Interpol.
