Evenimentul Zilei reveals that Romanian authorities have spent 1 billion euro, in 5 years times for citizens to save 4 minutes on route from Bucharest to Constanta, South East Romania. After 11 years since the first contracts were signed, citizens will be able to save 4 minutes on their trip to Constanta at 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The project was one of the biggest infrastructure works in Romania in the last decades. The route is important not only for the transport of people to the seaside in the summer but mostly for the merchandise.
Gandul reads about a Rroma minor from Romania who posed as a beggar nearby ATMs. When citizens would introduce their PIN, the boy would harass them to give him some money while he would push the ATM button and grab the money then ran. Foreign newspaper Daily Mail reads that the boy started stealing since he was 11 years old.
The ATM scheme brought him several thousands of pounds. The boy has been previously sentenced for similar robberies but now he risks to go to jail if he does not respect the decision of the judges.
Romania libera reads that Norway is among the countries that contributed with the biggest sums of money to Romanian nongovernmental organizations in Romania. Norway financed 69 individual projects and 115 smaller projects from NGOs. The contribution of the country amounts to about 100 million euro mainly to support young artists in Romania.
