Nokia to offer 200 million euro in compensation for closing down Bochum plant
Nokia reached a deal with German trade union IG Metall and it will pay 200 million euro as compensation for the 2,300 employees laid off once Nokia decided to close down its factory in Bochum and relocate to Romania, a company press release informs.
The German factory will cease its activity on June 30 and Nokia will announce the costs of the procedure on April 17 in the first financial report for the first quarter of the year. Nokia announced in January that it will close down the Bochum factory to relocate in Romania.
