Romania’s commercial deficit decreased in the first quarter of the year by 13.6% to 1.92 billion euro from 2.22 million euro in the same period in 2009 Romania’s National Statistics Institute revealed. The decrease was a consequence of an increase of exports and a decrease of imports.
In the mentioned period, exports increased by 19.4% to 7.87 billion euro and imports advanced by 1.0% to 9.80 billion euro. Intra-communitarian exchanges in the first quarter were 5.86 billion euro for exits and 7.07 billion euro for entries, representing 74.3% of total exports and 72% of total imports.
