Sudanese plane with over 100 passengers hijacked to Libya

A Sudanese plane with over 100 passengers on board landed in Lybia after it was hijacked in the Darfour region, Agence France Presse informs. The hijackers announced on Wednesday morning that they would release the women and children at the authorities’ request. Moreover, authorities announced that currently nobody knew the hijackers identity or affiliation.

The airplane’s pilot declared that the hijackers wanted to reach Paris in order to meet their leader, Abdel Whid Mohammed Nur. French Foreign Affairs Minister Bernard Kouchner underlined that his country would do everything to save passengers. However, he did not confirm whether he would allow the plane to land in Paris or not.

The supposed leader of the hijackers, Abdel Wahid Mohammed Nur denied any connection with the incident and declared that he refused to use such methods.
