A France tribunal blocked the expulsion of seven gypsies

A French magistrate blocked the expulsion of seven gypsies and postponed the plans of French authorities to continue voluntary repatriations, International Business Times reads. An administrative court in Lille cancelled the deportation order and declared that the cases do not comply with the legal standards of a real and immediate threat.

The deportation of gypsies from France was made after Sarkozy requested authorities to take immediate measures to repatriate illegal gypsies from France. The government claim that the gypsies leave the country voluntarily as each person receives a compensation of 300 euro for an adult and 100 euro for a child.

In August, French authorities destroyed 128 illegal camps and repatriated 900 people to Romania and Bulgaria. The campaign launched in France was considered illegal and racist.
