Annual inflation rate at 6.71%  in January

The annual inflation rate was 6.71% in January, a significant increase, compared to the 6.3% level in December. According to the National Statistics Institute (INS), prices increased significantly in during the first month of the year for both food and non-food products.

Food prices increased with an average of 1.24%, compared to December, while non-food products prices grew 0.83%. Prices for services increased 3.27%.

The most important price growth was noted in telephony subscriptions – 7.71% and air transport – 7.68%.
