Final official results: Sorin Oprescu is the new Bucharest mayor with 56.55%. Rival candidate Vasile Blaga 43.45%

Bucharest Electoral Office announced its final results for Bucharest City Hall following the second round of local elections on Sunday. Independent candidate Sorin Oprescu received 56.55% of the cast votes while Democrat Liberal Vasile Blaga only 43.45%. Oprescu is thus officially declared winner.

The Electoral Office announced that the total number of eligible cast votes was 558,741.

Sorin Oprescu received 351, 981 votes while Blaga 242,760.
