Main European stock exchanges grow on Thursday, Bucharest market still red

The stock exchanges in London and Frankfurt opened this morning on growth, London’s indicator Footsie gaining 8.2% (0.17% than closing time on Wednesday), after the UK’s largest credit institution, HBOS, was bought by rival Lloyd’s TSB. In Frankfurt, the DAX indicator won 0.25%, AFP informs.

In Paris, the CAC 40 indicator started the session with a 0.46% decrease, compared to Wednesday, but returned to growth within minutes, climbing 0.31%.

In Bucharest, the stock exchange was opened on a descending trend, with BET losing 4.54% and BET FI losing 8.45%. The BRD shares continue to fall, losing another 4.76%, compared to the price on Wednesday.

In Bulgaria, the fall is even more significant, the main indicator, SOFIX, dropping 7.18%.

The price for an oil barrel remains on Thursday around 97 US Dollars, after losing 6 dollars on Wednesday due to FED’s announcement that it will save AIG.
