Romanian Opera singer Angela Gheorghiu named artist of the year at the Classical Brit Awards

Romanian Opera singer Angela Gheorghiu received, on Thursday night, the artist of the year award, at the 11th edition of the Classical Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs.

This is for the second time when the Romanian artist receives this award in the last ten years. The first time, she received the award in 2001. Aged 44, Angela Gheorgiu is a superstat of the international opera, and is one of the best sold classical music artist.
