Romanian tourists can travel to Turkey without visa
Romanian citizens can now travel freely to Turkey for tourism, Romanian Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) informs. The legal residence period in the absence of a visa is 90 days.
Romanians intending to travel to Turkey for studies, work, professional training, scientific research or any other related reasons which require a residency longer than 90 days still have to obtain the visa.
Car transporters can only get into Turkey after obtaining the entrance visa from the Turkish Embassy in Romania. MAE recommends Romanian citizens to not leave Romania without the health, travel and life insurances.
Entering Turkey requires passport proof.
The Romanian MAE recommends Romanian citizens wishing to travel to Turkey to also have their national ID, which features additional identification data. There have been cases when Romanians have been retained in Turkey by the local police because of similar names with persons who had committed crimes in this country.
