Social-Democrat leader: We must start putting up the future Government tonight

The president of the Social Democrat Party, Mircea Geoana, said after the publishing of the exit poll results that his party should lead the new Government. „We are a strong party, which deserved to win these elections. The Social Democrats clearly won the elections”, said Geoana.

Geoana’s statements, in brief:

– The vote has ended and there is no doubt concerning the results;

– This crisis will surface winners and losers; the crisis must not be paid for by the poor;

– Romanians clearly chose Social Democrats to lead the future Government;

– We will have to start putting up the Government this very night.

According to the Insomar exit poll, Social Democrats won 36.2% of the votes for the House of Deputies and 35.9% of the votes for the Senate.
