Traian Basescu is validated for a new presidential mandate
On Wednesday morning, Traian Basescu will be validated for a new presidential mandate in Romania. The validation ceremony will take place at 10 am at the Constitutional Court headquarters in Bucharest.
Traian Basescu will be sworn in next week, on December 21, at the Parliament.
After the votes cast o the second rounds at the polls on December 6, Basescu won a new mandate as the head of the state, competing against social-democrat Mircea Geoana. The score difference was 75,000 votes.
