ING Romania reports considerabile boost in 2005

ING Romania reported Monday a net income of 73.8 million euro with a gross result of 17 million euro in 2005. With assets valued at 1,84 billion euro, ING claims a market share of 5.3%, up 45% compared to the previous year.

ING Romania also reported a growing market share of 10% of the overall banking services for companies, as it is a market leader in the electronic banking services sector with ING Online and ING Self Bank.

Its credit portfolio rose by 42% last year, its current accounts boosted by 31% and number of deposits by 46%.

„Our results were not spectacular, but we outpaced the market growth by concentrating on services for companies and population”, according to ING Romania general manager Misu Negritoiu.
