Asian markets on strong fall. Governments put up anti-crisis fund
The Tokyo market lost 9.6% on Friday, falling under the psychological threshold of 8,000 points ad reaching its lowest level in the past 5 years.
On the other markets, the same lack of certitude led to more losses on the stock markets: Hong Kong lost 4.66%, Seoul – 10.6%, Singapore – 4.82%, Kuala Lumpur – 2.36%, Sydney – 2.95% and Manila – 2.13%.
Meanwhile, officials from 13 Asian states decided to put up a fund of 80 billion US Dollars, in order to protect the region against the financial crisis. South Korea, China, Japan and the ten ASEAN states agreed on the solution after a meeting in Beijing on Friday.
