Deutsche Bank will join the Romanian market in 2010, focusing on corporate clients
Deutsche Bank plans to join the Romanian financial market in 2010, addressing corporate clients. The bank will open one branch, according to Deutsche Bank manager for Germany and executive board member Juergen Fitschen, Romanian press agency NewsIn reads, quoting Bloomberg. He mentioned that the bank will not enter the Romanian market through buying out, but he did not exclude taking over should there be banking actives sold at accessible prices.
Juergen Fitschen underlined that Deutsche Bank is open to buying to consolidate its affairs on the corporate segment, indicating as example taking over banking operations for ABN Amro Holding companies in the Netherlands.
Deutsche Bank, leader of the German market, already has an office in Romania. Deutsche Bank was recently rumoured to be interested in taking over RBS Romania. It also joined the race of seeing the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR) privatised.
