EU plans to double support for Eastern European countries
EU representatives consider to double support for Eastern European countries to 50 billlion euro. Luxembourg PM Jean Claude Juncker declared that there is almost a consensus on this matter. On the other hand, European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, who made the initial proposal, declared that by Friday, all EU countries will consent to the change.
Barroso declared that this will be a good sign of solidarity. Romania is represented by President Basescu and PM Emil Boc. The reunion of the 27 EU member states will end with a final declaration.
At this summit, European leaders reached an agreement on the financing procedure aimed at relaunching the economy and agreed on the energy infrastructure project list. After talks, Nabucco re-entered the list, and will receive a 200 million euro financing, Radio Romania Actualitati reads.
