Greece invested 5.5 billion euro in Romania and Bulgaria

Greek companies invested some 5.5 billion euro in Romania and Bulgaria in the first six months of the year, Novinite.com informs quoting daily Greek newspaper Imerisia. Greek companies and financial institutions invested in Bulgaria 2 billion euro, mainly in the real estate sector. Moreover, Greek investors own some 29% of the total bank assets in Bulgaria.

In the same period, Greeks invested 3.5 billion euro in Romania, novinite.com informs. Greeks remain therefore one of the main foreign investors present in the two countries. In 2006, Greek investments in Romania totaled 2.68 billion euro among which 970 million in greenfield investments, Romania’s National Bank data informs.
