Credits growth slow down 30.7%

The growth rate for credits offered to the populace in February decreased in February to 30.7%, compared to February 2008, the total amount lent reaching 206.89 billion RON, with credits in the national currency noting a significant advance, data at the Romanian Central Bank (BNR) reveal. The credit growth rate was lower than in January, when it reached 33.8%.

At the end of February, the governmental credit – including local administration, central administration and social insurance – increased 142%, compared to February 2008.

The populace savings increased only 0.1%, compared to January 2009.
