HotNews.ro

Negotiations between trade unions and the management of the Romanian Commercial Bank – BCR have failed. BCR trade union representatives told HotNews.ro on Friday that starting today the employees no longer have a collective work contracts. Two employees have threatened hunger strike starting Monday, March 7.

BCR head Dominic Bruynseels recently said that the management of the bank offered in a 7% salary raise over two years in exchange of eliminating salary rights linked to the overall performance of the bank, but trade unions rejected the offer. The BCR CEO said he was astonished to hear the refusal of the trade union.

The federation of trade unions in the sector informed BCR employees of its support, but recommended that the two employees threatening hunger strike drop their plans. According to representatives of BCR employees, the two women made their decision because of the lack of management reaction at notifications related to working place stress and harassment.
