Protest in Naples. Unemployed Italians request Romanian citizenship
Two Italian groups organize on Monday, in Naples a unique protest: dissatisfied because garbage is picked up by foreigners, while they are unemployed, Italians announce they plan to give up their citizenship and request a Romanian one.
Italians protest against a project announced by the Interior minister, Roberto Maroni to set up a service cooperative to collect and sort all trash in Naples, Radio Romania Actualitati informs. Last week, Maroni offered as example a Gypsy camp in the area that collect trash. The announce raised important protests in Naples.
Meanwhile, the Interior minister declared that there is a misunderstanding and that the new plan does not plan to offer ethnic Gypsies jobs to collect the trash but offered them as an example of good behavior.
It is for the first time that those residing in such camps decided to collect the garbage, Maroni added.
