Romanians do not buy electric cars because they are small, expensive and have low autonomy

HotNews.ro

The Indian company importing electric cars in Romania did not sell any mainly because Romanians consider them expensive, small and are dissatisfied with the fact that they need to reload them after only 90 km, company representatives told HotNews.ro.

Reva Romania brought this type of car in 2003 but did not sell any model so far. Currently, there are two models, which differ only in improvements. The cheapest model amounts to 10,000 euro, VAT included while the most expensive model can cost 15,000 euro.

Even though Romanians seemed interested in the new car models at the time they were launched, none of them considered it appropriate to buy one: the maximum speed is 75 km/hour but it needs to be reloaded every 90 km. Total reload time takes 6 hours and the car is suitable for two adults and two children.
