Romanian Patriarchy attacked by the bishop of Tiraspol and Dubasari

HotNews.ro

The move of the Romanian Patriarchy to create three new dioceses on Moldovan and Transdiester territories is seen by a top Church official there as a crusade against the Russian Orthodox Church and as destabilizing the foreign context in Western Europe.

The statement was made by Bishop Iustinian of Tiraspol and Dubasari, who thus commented at the request of the RIA-Novii region agency a decision of the Romanian Orthodox Church Synod to establish dioceses in Balti, Cantemir as well as one for Dubasari and the region of Transdniester – territories currently dominated by the Metropolitan Church of Bassarabia (Moldovan Republic).

He added that the Romanian Orthodox Church made the move regardless of the fact that the territories are under Russian Orthodox Church jurisdiction.
