5.8 billion lei deficit after the first two months of the year/ personnel spending cut only 0.7%
The implementation of the general consolidated budget in January 1 – February 28 registered, according to Finance ministry data, an estimated deficit of 5.81 billion lei (about 1.1%). Plus, personnel spending decreased with only 0.7% compared to the same period last year, which can be explained by the four days of holiday in December.
Budgetary spending registered 31.0 billion lei, registering an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period, last year.
Goods and services spending increased by 12% compared to the similar period, last year. Personnel spending decreased by 0.7% compared to the same period, last year. Investment spending, including capital spending and transfers for development programs were 2.8 billion lei, representing 8.9% of total spending of the general consolidated budget, which is about 5% of GDP.
In terms of revenues, the budget registered 25.2 billion lei.
