Poll: Democrats may win 31.7% of Romania MEP seats

Democrats would gain the best score for the European Parliament elections, if voters were to express their preferences this weekend. According to an IMAS poll, Democrats lead with 31.7% of the votes, followed by Social Democrats – 12.8%, Liberals – 9,4% and the New Generation Party – 9,3%. Only 67.5% of all electors will vote at the European elections.

All other parties fail to reach the 5% threshold – far right Great Romania has 3.4%, Hungarian Democrats – 2.7% (for the first time after 1989), Liberal Democrats – 2.2% and Conservatives 0.6%.

If elections were organized this week for the Romanian Parliament, Democrats would gain 42% of all votes, followed by Social Democrats – 17%, New Generation Party – 13%, Liberals – 12% and Great Romania – 5%.
