Democrats denounce public TV political subordination

The Democrat Party officially accused in a press release the fact that the public TV station, TVR, broke the parity principle during the referendum campaign, inviting only prime minister Tariceanu to speak in a live show. The TVR manager didn’t respond yet to the allegations.

„Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu demanded a special show, in the TVR prime time, so that he could launch his anti presidential messages”, the release reads. The political battle for TVR subordination was a first page issue for 17 years, given the station’s wide access to rural areas.
