Final verdict: ex-Culture minister Musca involved in political police activities

HotNews.ro

The Bucharest Appeals Court rejected on Wednesday an appeal by Romanian politician Mona Musca, who served as Culture minister in the first year of the current government term, against a decision that she was involved in political police activities under the Communist regime before 1989.

The court’s verdict turns the decision announced last year by CNSAS – the main body investigating political police activities by current public officials under the communist regime – into a permanent one.

The court magistrates were expected to announce a verdict on February 27 but postponed the decision.

Prior to the Appeals Court decision, CNSAS rejected Musca’s first challenge to its decision in November last year.
