Several members of a group uniting revolutionaries of the 1989 anti-Communist revolt in Romania forced their way into the Bucharest headquarters of the opposition Social-Democratic Party-PSD on Wednesday and said they would enter hunger strike until the leadership of the political group talks to them.
The incident came as hundreds of people were protesting in front of the PSD headquarters, calling for the elimination of Ion Iliescu, ex-President of Romania for much of the 16 years of post-Communism, from the political life.
Protesters have come to Bucharest from across the country to call for an investigation into Ion Iliescu’s role in the Romanian 1989 revolution.
